UP MLA arrested in dance bar raid summoned by Goa police

The Panaji police has summoned Uttar Pradesh-based Samajwadi Party MLA Mahendra Singh again on September 15 for further probe into the busted prostitution racket, after the legislator was caught red-handed during a police raid on a dance bar.

Officials said that Singh who is out on a bail had reported to Panaji police station for three days as per the court order till Thursday and later flew to his town in Uttar Pradesh.

"We are still investigating the case. So we will require him again. He has been asked to remain present on September 15 again," a senior official said.
 

In a late night police raid on August 28, Singh along with five others were arrested in the heart of Panaji city and six girls who were found to have been allegedly trafficked to the state were rescued by the Goa police.

After his arrest, Singh was suspended by the Samajwadi Party of Uttar Pradesh.
