Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today pitched for introduction of Information Technology in the legal process and in the administration of justice, saying it will increase transparency and efficiency.
Maharashtra CM was speaking at the Joint Conference of Chief Ministers and Chief Justices of High courts here today.
"The move from paper to electronic forms is a vital step in the evolution of a modern system. The introduction of Information and Technology into the legal process and the administration of justice will increase transparency and efficiency in the state.

"Protecting the secrecy of court information is obligatory," Fadnavis was quoted as saying in a statement.
He said the Joint Conference is an occasion for the executive and the judiciary to reaffirm their resolve to support a speedy, efficient and quality justice delivery in the country.
Also to discuss steps required to surmount the various challenges facing the justice system, such as inordinate delays in disposal of cases in courts, facilitating access to speedy resolution of commercial disputes by economic operators, making the justice system user friendly and affordable to all and improving the quality of legal aid services in the country, the statement said.
