VE Commercial Vehicles sales zoom 57% in February

Eicher-branded trucks and buses recorded total sales of 4,936 units in February, up 59.22%

VE Commercial Vehicles today reported a 57.25% jump in total sales in February at 5,032 units as against 3,200 units in the same month last year.

The company, a joint venture between Sweden's Volvo Group and Eicher Motors, said Eicher-branded trucks and buses recorded total sales of 4,936 units in February compared with 3,100 units in the corresponding month last year, up 59.22%.

In the domestic market, sales of Eicher trucks and buses stood at 4,264 units in February compared with 2,774 units in the year-ago month, up 53.7%, VECV said in a statement.

Exports of Eicher trucks and buses stood at 672 units in February as against 326 units in the same month last year, a growth of 106.1%.
 

Volvo trucks recorded a marginal decline in sales at 96 units in last month as compared with 100 units in February 2015, the company added.
