Vijay Narayan is TN's new Advocate General

: Senior advocate Vijay Narayan was today appointed Tamil Nadu's Advocate General following the resignation of R Muthukumaraswamy.

The appointment was made by the state government after Muthukumaraswamy tendered his resignation yesterday, citing personal reasons.

Narayan is presently president of Madras Bar Association, the oldest association of lawyers in the country.

Narayan comes from a family of lawyers. His grandfather was the legendary M K Nambyar, who was responsible to a great extent for the development of constitutional law in India, while his uncle is K K Venugopal is Attorney General of India.

Vijay Narayan has argued a wide variety of cases, including cases on service law, labour law, constitutional law, administrative law and commercial law.
