Vizag: 14 stolen motorbikes seized, two arrested

Police have arrested two persons and seized 14 stolen motorbikes here.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police S Varada Raju today said that the accused, a local youth called L Venkata Sandeep (20) and K Gouri Shankar (34) of Araku Valley stole the motorcycles using old keys.

Sandeep, who hails from a well-to-do family, was employed with a private company, police said. He allegedly took to stealing bikes when his parents refused to buy him a Pulsar motorcycle.

He teamed up with Gouri Shankar, who works as a painter.

The two were arrested from Diamond Park here yesterday. The 14 bikes seized from their possession were worth Rs 2.8 lakh, police said.
