Wanted criminal injured in encounter: Police

A wanted criminal and two

cops were injured in an encounter in Kandhai area here on Wednesday, a senior police official said.

The encounter took place near Ganaideeh village when a police team stopped a bike carrying three persons and they started firing, Superintendent of Police Dev Ranjan Verma said.

In exchange of fire wanted criminal Javed and two constables Vishwas Kumar and Bhola were injured, he said.

Javed was wanted in connection with a number of cases, including murder and loot.

The injured were admitted to a hospital where their condition was stated to be stable, he added.
