Wheat arrival at nearly 50 lakh tonne in Haryana

More than 49.55 lakh tonnes of wheat has so far arrived in various mandis in Haryana during the current procurement season.

The government agencies have procured 49.54 lakh tonnes of wheat whereas, 864 tonnes have been purchased by traders, an official spokesman said.

HAFED purchased the highest 17.94 lakh tonnes followed by 14.42 lakh tonnes purchased by Food and Supplies Department.

Agro Industries Corporation has purchased 4.42 lakh tonnes, Haryana Warehousing Corporation 5.08 lakh tonnes, CONFED 1.15 lakh tonnes and Food Corporation of India had procured 6.51 lakh tonnes of wheat during current procurement season so far.

District Karnal is leading in the wheat arrival where 5.84 lakh tonnes have arrived in the mandis, followed by Kaithal with 5.52 lakh tonnes.
