Wheat prices edged higher by 0.44 per cent to Rs 1,824 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators created fresh bets.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, wheat for delivery in June was trading higher by Rs 8, or 0.44 per cent to Rs 1,824 per quintal with an open interest of 7,530 lots.
Analysts said fresh positions created by traders following uptick in demand in the physical market, particularly from flour mills amid a pause in arrivals from producing belts influenced wheat prices in futures trade.
