Whoopi Goldberg to return for season 21 of 'The View'

Veteran actor-comic Whoopi Goldberg is all set to make a comeback on the 21st season of "The View".

It will be the 61-year-old actor's 10th anniversary as the moderator for the show, reported Variety.

Goldberg's re-entry on the ABC programme is a major boost for the network as her presence is said to have kept the show up-and-running after creator Barbara Walters hung up her boots in 2014.

A spokesperson for ABC, however, declined to comment.

Goldberg joined "The View" in the late summer of 2007. Season 21 starts in early September.
