Wild bear rescued from farm well at Mandla forest range

A wild bear was rescued from a well into which it had fallen, at Mandla forest range of Panna Tiger Reserve, a top official said here today.
Panna Tiger Reserve officials received information that a wild bear has fallen into a well in the farm of one Kishore Prajapati at around 9 pm yesterday, field Director R S Murthy told PTI over phone from Panna district.
Panna Reserve veterinarian Sanjeev Gupta rushed to the spot along with a rescue team, he said, adding that forest department officials fished out the animal with the help of a rope and net at around 3.05 am today.
Murthy said that after examining the bear, it was released into the wild.
