Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh today said that nobody will be allowed to disturb peace or resort to secessionist activities in the state.

"We are not going to allow anybody to create such atmosphere where peace and tranquility is disturbed in Jammu and Kashmir," Singh said here.

Singh was replying to a question about J&K High Court quashing the detention of hardline separatist leader Masarat Alam under Public Safety Act (PSA).

Alam was arrested in April this year for allegedly hoisting Pakistani flag and chanting anti-national slogans.

Alam's counsel Mian Abdul Qayoom had yesterday said that Justice Muzaffar Hussain Attar quashed the PSA detention of the 45-year-old separatist leader.

"He (Masarat Alam) will not be allowed to resort to secessionists activities," deputy chief minister said.

"He (Masarat) is a person, who had been let off earlier also, but then we thought he is becoming challenge to the peace and tranquility in Kashmir and was re-arrested," he said.

"He is entering into treason, so definitely he was arrested again. We will see to it what goes on. We have to think over it what course we have to take," he said.
