Woman falls from tree into canal, meets watery grave

A woman labourer, hailing from Uttar Pradesh, drowned when she fell from a tree into a canal near Lukhi village here, police said today.

The incident happened yesterday when Joeshia, aged 40, perched on a tree was cutting wood, they said.

The body of the woman, employed as a labourer in a brick kiln, had been fished out from the canal, police said.
