A woman, who was a victim of regular domestic violence, hacked her middle aged husband to death with a chopper at her home in West Bengal's Howrah district today.
Police said the man, who worked in a hosiery unit, died on the spot and the woman was arrested.
Ananda Koley (45) tortured his wife Shibani almost daily, the police said quoting their neighbours at Sirajbati village in Amta.
Today morning when the victim tried to strangle his wife threatening her with a chopper, the accused woman in defence snatched the chopper from his hand and stabbed him with it. She then hacked him to death.
The couple has a eight-year-old son and a four-year-old daughter.
