Woman raped in Greater Noida; accused arrested

A woman was allegedly raped by a man in Jewar area here, following which the accused has been arrested, police said today.

According to a complaint filed by the woman, the incident took place last evening when she was returning home.

One Chandrapal forcibly took her to nearby fields and raped her, police said.

However, hearing her screams, the field owners came to her rescue, police said, adding, the accused fled from the spot after seeing them.

She was sent for medical examination which confirmed rape. The accused has been arrested, they said.
