Woman sets two daughters on fire, immolates self in Daman

A 23-year-old woman today allegedly immolated herself after killing her two daughters by setting them on fire in Dabhel area here, police said.

The deceased, Jyoti Kasukar, who hails from Maharashtra poured kerosene on her daughters and set them on fire inside her house after which she immolated herself, Dabhel Police inspector Sohil Jivani said.

While the two daughters died on the spot, Jyoti succumbed to her injuries during treatment, the officer said.

The daughters have been identified as Priti (1) and Vanita (3), Jivani said.

Prima facie, Jyoti who shifted here three years back had an quarrel with her husband Bhagwan, who works as a driver, he said.
 

A case has been registered against Bhagwan for abatement of suicide and investigations are underway, police said.
