Workers ransack L&T after labourer's death

Padmalocan Panda (40), a resident of Purusottampur in Ganjam district, was found dead in his quarter at the work site this morning.

As the news spread, some labourers went to the company office demanding compensation to the family of the deceased but the company officials allegedly refused to talk to the labourers on the issue, the sources said.

Enraged over the matter, the labourers ransacked the office. However, no complaint has been filed by the officials.

A police picket was posted at the site soon after the ruckus, the sources said adding the family of the deceased was informed.
