A select group of 20 filmmaking aspirants, actors and theatre practitioners will from Monday participate in a three-week workshop that examines language of world cinema through its history, diverse aesthetic, socio-economic and cultural dimensions and applications.
Organised by the Kochi Biennale Foundation (KBF) with the support of Tata Trusts, the workshop titled 'The History and aesthetics of early world cinema' will run from March 14 to April 3 at Pepper House, Fort Kochi.
The offering is part of an ongoing series of art education initiatives to be held in the run-up to the third edition of the Kochi Muziris Biennale (KMB) in December.
The free-of-cost offering will be helmed by noted film editor Jethu Mundul, an alumnus and former faculty member of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), who has been making experimental films on an array of topics for over four decades, a KBF release said here.
The third edition of the Kochi-Muziris Biennale, India's only art extravaganza, will run from December 12, 2016 - March 29, 2017, here.
