The world cannot afford a major confrontation in the Gulf, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said Thursday following suspected attacks on two oil tankers in the Gulf of Oman.
Guterres strongly condemned the "security incidents," which came a month after four tankers were damaged in the same strategic sea lane, a vital corridor for much of the world's oil supplies.
