Youth arrested for theft in gurudwara in Jammu

Police today arrested a youth for theft in a gurudwara in Jammu district.

On January 6, Dharamveer Singh, pardhan of Gurudwara Singh Sabha, Sohal, filed a complaint at Akhnoor police station that some unknown persons had stolen a "Dhan Pattar" (donation box) along with cash from the place, a police spokesman said.

In this regard a case was registered and investigation started, he said.

During the course of investigation, police conducted a raid at the residence of Gurjeet Singh alais Sonu of Akhnoor Tehsil and recovered the "Dhan Pattar" and Rs 2,000 in cash from his house, he said. Gurjeet has been arrested, he added.
