A 20-year-old youth was today arrested for allegedly trying to molest a northeastern girl at Khirki Extension area in South Delhi, police said.
"The accused, identified as Aditya, is a student and was arrested following a complaint filed by the victim," said a senior police officer.
According to the complaint, the girl, hailing from Nagaland, had a fight with her boyfriend at her residence today morning, following which she went to sleep in her room, police said.
Later at around 11.30 AM, accused Aditya, staying in the same lane as that of the girl, managed to enter the girl's room and allegedly tried to molest her, they said.
Hearing the girl's scream her neighbours as well as her boyfriend, who was staying nearby, rushed to help her and a PCR call was made.
Police reached the spot and arrested the accused who was kept held by the girl's neighbours and her friend.
