Youth arrested with intoxicating powder

Sarabjit Singh alias Happy, from the city's Baba Fateh Singh Nagar, was arrested last evening at a check-post near Vishawakarma mandir on the Phagwara-Banga road, SP (Phagwara) Harkamalpreet Singh Khakh said.

Police signalled the accused to stop at the check-post, but he tried to flee after leaving his scooted behind, Khakh said, adding, police chased and caught him.

"Upon searching him, 100 g of intoxicating powder was recovered from him, while the scooter turned out be a stolen one," he said.
