A youth was today arrested for allegedly possessing three country-made pistols here, police said today.
Acting on a tip-off, the accused Saliq Ahmed Abdul Ajij, a resident of Nayapura was apprehended from the Malegoan-Dabhadi road in the wee hours and three pistols and 27 live cartridges were recovered from his possession, Police Sub Inspector Nitin Khairnar said.
Two mobiles and Rs 85,000 were also recovered from his possession, the officer said.
Ajij was produced in a local court which remanded him to six days in police custody, Khairnar said.
