A 22-year-old youth allegedly involved in murder of a youth last week and facing seven other serious cases has been arrested by the police from south west Delhi.
Jitender alias Rahul alias Jindu (22) is a member of Gaurav Jharera's gang.
Yesterday, police got a tip-off about the accused's movement in Naraina area after which a trap was laid and Jitender was arrested.
"The accused has been involved in seven cases of murders, attempt to murder, theft and Arms Act which are registered in Delhi Cantt police station," said a police official.
Probe revealed that the accused came in contact with Jharera, who has 33 cases against him, in Tihar prison in 2013.
On November 19, Jharera and Jitender along with their five associates planned to kill one Rakesh @ Kalu of their village due to an old enmity over running of a meat shop in the locality.
They thrashed Kalu, who died in AIIMS on November 21.
Police is still looking for Jharera and his associates.
