India's industrial output contracts 1.5 percent in January - government

NEW DELHI (Reuters) - India's industrial output contracted at an annual rate of 1.5 percent in January, government data showed on Friday.

Economists surveyed by Reuters had forecast output would shrink by 0.5 percent compared with a 1.3 percent year-on-year fall in December.
