112 Scrips Hit Lower Circuit On Bse

With the BSE Sensex falling below the 4000-mark yesterday, as many as 112 stocks hit the lower end of the circuit filter. In the A group, 14 stocks touched lower circuit while the corresponding numbers for the B1 and B2 groups were 57 and 41, respectively.

Software stocks Aptech, SSI, Wipro and old economy stock Larsen & Toubro exhausted their expanded twelve per cent limit.

Other notable losers in the A group were ACC (down 10.08 per cent), Bombay Dyeing (11.66 per cent), Global Tele (8.53 per cent), HFCL (10.12 per cent), India Cements (11.89 per cent), Infosys Tech (9.4 per cent), ITC Bhadra (7.93 per cent), Satyam Computer (7.98 per cent), Sterlite (10.73 per cent) and Zee Tele (9.41 per cent).

 

However, three A group scrips hit upper circuit. These were Apollo Tyres ( up 7.96 per cent), Esab India (7.91 per cent) and Indian Rayon (7.95 per cent). 15 stocks in the B1 group hit the upper end of circuit filter while 14 did so in the B2 group.

Meanwhile, on the National Stock Exchange, 49 stocks hit the lower circuit band. Crest Communications, Gramophone Company, HCL Technologies, Kale Consultants, PSI Data Systems, Rolta, TVS Electronics and Vikas WSP ended down 12 per cent over their previous close.
