13.05% Gilt Traded For Rs 80 Crore

The wholesale debt market of the National Stock Exchange saw a trading volume of Rs 624.05 crore out of which the treasury bill segment saw a volume of Rs 45.40 crore and the repo segment reported a volume of Rs 50 crore.
The prices of securities fell during early trading but recovered by the end of the day. The 13.05 per cent government loan, maturing in 2007, saw trades worth Rs 80 crore at the weighted average yield of 12.40 per cent.

The paper was traded at the low of Rs 102.90, touched a high of Rs 103.55 and closed at Rs 103.25.
The day also saw trades worth Rs 85 crore in the 14.75 per cent bonds of IDBI maturing in 2003. The stock saw six trades in the band of Rs 103.50 to Rs 103.60.
There were two repo trades for 9 days at the rate of 10 per cent and 9.95 per cent while one repo deal was done for 14 days at 10.5 per cent.
The commercial paper of L& T was traded for Rs five crore at the yield of 11 per cent, and the certificate of deposits of Bank of America was traded for Rs 15 crore at the yield of 10.65 per cent.
The 12.69 per cent government loan, maturing in 2002, was traded for Rs 60 crore at the yield of 12.05 per cent. It was traded at the low of Rs 101.80 and a high of Rs 102.00.
