229 Haryana Units Issued Pollution Notices

The Haryana Pollution Control Board has issued notices to 229 industrial units on charges of generating hazardous wastes, according to state environment minister Subhash Chaudhary. These units have been directed to apply for authorisation for collection, reception, treatment, transport, storage and disposal of the hazardous wastes generated by them.

The minister said the erring industrial units will face action under the Environment (Protection) Act.

Meanwhile, the pollution control board has prepared a time-bound schedule from January to March to process the consent cases so that industry can concentrate on production.
