Acc Soars

Though share values extended the easing trend of late Tuesday due to overnight sale orders, there was welcome recovery in the second half of the session. The improvement reflected revival of bull support to leading scrips like ACC. The sensitive index lost 2.27 points at 450.92.
Brokers said that with prices falling to attractively lower levels, bulls were again active picking up fair parcels of major scrips, aiding a rally which enabled the list to wind up with perceptible gains over Tuesdays closing rate in some cases.

In the specified list ACC soared to Rs 1488, while Tisco finished at Rs 193.50 with ITC taking in at Rs 418 and SBI at Rs 289.50. The Reliance scrip was placed at Rs 271 and L&T at Rs 243. Among other scrips, CESC finished at Rs 56.50, Hind Motor at Rs 18.10, Jaiprakash at Rs 18.50 and Ispat at Rs 16.25.
