The wholesale debt market (WDM) at the National Stock Exchange witnessed a very dull trading session yesterday as there were no trades in the government securities market. The WDM saw trades in the corporate debenture segment to the turn of Rs 12.44 lakh.
There were no trades reported in the government securities segment as the banking sector, which account for the maximum trade in WDM, was closed on account of Buddha Purnima yesterday.
The corporate debenture segment saw 112 trades, and the total quantity of trades amounted to 9620.

Trades were reported only in six floats including Flex Industries, Gujarat Industrial Power Corporation, Mangalore Refineries Petroleum Ltd, Reliance Industries, Telco, Tisco and Torrent Gujarat.
The 16 per cent bond of MRPL, maturing in 2002, saw the highest trades, accounting for 53 trades and recording a volume of Rs 4.7 lakh.
The paper was traded at the weighted average yield of 19.03 per cent, at the low of Rs 98.40, touched a high of Rs 99, and closed at Rs 98.90.
The bonds of Tisco saw 31 trades, and contributed to a volume of Rs 5.97 lakh. The paper was traded at the weighted average yield of 17.12 per cent at the low of Rs 264.60 and high of Rs 267 for the day.
