Dr Pepper To Hit Stores Next Year

Gargi Chakrabarty BSCAL

Cadbury Schweppes is planning to launch its largest selling brand Dr Pepper in the Indian market next year.

A blend of 25 different flavours, Dr Pepper is a black colour non-cola soft drink. It will be the only such drink in the Indian market. The soft drink will be priced competitively to the existing soft drink brands including those from the Coca-Cola and Pepsi stable. Globally, Dr Pepper generates highest sales for Cadbury Schweppes in the beverages division.

It accounts for a nearly 3.5 per cent share in the global market for soft drinks.

The US-based soft drinks giant has already firmed up plans to bring in investment to the tune of Rs 58 crore to boost its marketing and promotional activity in the country.

Cadbury Schweppes, which had already invested over Rs 22 crore in the country, has already introduced a range of soft drinks in India including its cola brand--Sport. The others in the non-cola category include Canada Dry, Crush and Lemonades.
