The Hyderabad-based Electronics Corporation of India Ltd (ECIL) has bagged a Rs 41 crore order from Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) for supervisory control and data analysis system (Scada).

To be executed on turn-key basis, the Scada system is for the 550 km Haldia-Barauni crude oil pipeline of IOC.

The contract includes provision of telecommunication, instrumentation and control, apart from supervisory control and data acquisition.

ECIL bagged the contract against stiff competition from international telecommunication and Scada system majors in a global tender, an ECIL press release said yesterday.

This will be the first combined optical fibre communication and Scada system being implemented by an Indian company. The contract entails supply and commissioning of optical fibre communication at 14 stations on the pipeline which includes three station control centres and one master control centre at Haldia.

The Scada system continuously monitors the health of the pipeline and helps in otimising the utilisation of the pipeline facility. Telecommunications Consultants (India) Ltd and Supreme Telecommunications will be the associate vendors in the project, the press release said.
