Harjit Kaur Wins A Round In Pure Drinks Spat

Harjit Kaur, wife of late Sardar Charanjit Singh, and aunt to the warring brothers Ajit Singh and Satwant Singh, has won one of her battles in her long drawn-out fight against estranged nephew Satwant.

The Jalandhar civil judges court has also vacated the stay earlier issued by it restraining Kaur from the directorship of Pure Drinks (New Delhi), makers of the Campa range of soft drinks.

The stay was earlier granted as an ad-interim injunction order in favour of Satwant who had asked the court to restrain his aunt from acting as a director in the company. In his order, the judge stated: ...It is also in the interest of the company that all the three directors namely Ajit Singh, Harjit Kaur and Satwant Singh continue to be the directors for the smooth functioning of the Company as they are the only three directors.

 

The judge has also cited the ongoing cases in the Delhi High Court and its earlier ruling which stayed the retirement of any director of Pure Drinks.

Meanwhile, last Saturday, Satwant filed a contempt petition as well as a case of perjury against his brother Ajit charging him with lying under oath in court regarding the true status of his aunt vis-a-vis the company.
