BSCAL

Of the 121 documents picked up, 86 are in the power sector, 24 in real estate, two in technology parks and four in leisure and entertainment. Maharashtra industry secretary Vinay Bansal said more documents would be picked up in the coming days. Bid documents have not been prepared for 17 of the 55 projects. They will soon be ready and more investors will join in, he said.

The government yesterday announced that of the $5 billion worth of projects on offer, it was expecting firm bids for projects worth at least $2.5-$3.5 billion. There has been great interest and enthusiasm shown by investors towards this conference and this shows the potential of the state in attracting investment, said Chief Minister Murli Manohar Joshi.
