Ktaka Fun Park To Kick Off Next Week

BSCAL

Karnatakas first amusement and water park, situated 19 kms from Bangalore city, is scheduled to open on June 12.

Called Neeladri, the water based and kiddy rides park spread over 22 acres, has been put up with an investment of Rs 8 crore.

We felt the state desperately needed an entertainment park. And, we wanted to be the first one to bring a fun park to Bangalore, said DR Nanjunda Setty, executive director, Neeladri Amusements Pvt Ltd.

The four promoters of the company have pumped in 25 per cent of the investment, while Karnataka State Industrial Investment and Development Corporation (KSIIDC) has provided a loan of Rs 4 crore and Karnataka State Financial Corporation (KSFC) has shelled out Rs 2 crore.

We hope to break even in two years and thereafter expect a 50 per cent return on investment, Setty added.

Licensed by a single window agency of the state tourism department, the company hopes to make the state tourism corporation promote this park as an official tourist spot.

The project, with its six imported rides and other locally designed rides, has been conceptualised by the one-year-old Mumbai-based Madhu Amusements and Leisure Concepts, a company delaing exclusively in leisure equipment.

Madhu Amusements has also bagged orders to set up parks in Nagpur, Panchgani, Chandigarh and Nepal. With the steep import duties for amusement gadgets, Madhu Amusements is scouting around for a foreign technical collaborator to manufacture rides equipment in India.
