More Survey Teams For Indo-Bangla Border Demarcation

India and Bangladesh yesterday agreed to increase the number of survey teams for boundary demarcation and exchange of enclaves and decided not to allow negative elements to use their land.
Union home secretary K Padmanabhaiah and his Bangladeshi counterpart Syed Rezaul Hayat signed the agreed minutes on security matters after three days of talks between the delegations of the two neighbours.
Welcoming the Bangladeshi decision to send a parliamentary delegation to visit Chakma refugee camps later this month, New Delhi assured fullest cooperation in helping Bangladesh for repatriation of Chakma refugees in India.

Both sides agreed to act upon specific information provided on security related issues and decided to implement the protocol of 1991 strictly on cross border movements. It was agreed that the ministries of home affairs of both governments would hold periodic meetings regarding action taken and feedback received on various issues.
The Indian side informed the visiting delegation about liberalisation of visa regime for Bangladeshi businessmen, doctors, engineers, technical experts and other professionals.
Both sides agreed to give permission to install V-Sat facilities in respective high commissions on reciprocal basis.
The delegations also decided to constantly cooperate on stopping transborder crimes like trafficking of women and children and smuggling of drugs.
Both sides emphasised the need for close and coordinated working on matters of mutual concerns.
