Nahata Released From Heart Institute

Arvind Kharbanda, chief executive of the company, confirmed that Nahata was undergoing treatment after he complained of chest pain some days back. Nahata had undergone operations for correction of heart valve complications some years back.

Nahata's admission to the heart institute confirmed reports in the telecom industry that he had some angina problems after the CBI conducted searches at his residence and office. The 38-year-old Nahata had also some blood pressure problems at the time.

Besides the searches, two rounds of questioning by CBI sleuths and highly critical media reports have troubled Nahata and the other promoters of HFCL, Vinay Maloo and Deepak Malhotra, over the past six weeks. The promoters were allegedly very close to Sukh Ram during his tenure as communications minister. The CBI raids on the residences of Sukh Ram and seizure of two diaries which reportedly contained abbreviated names, including that of Nahata, have not helped matters.
