Planned Family

In India, the family planning programme is much older and more expensive. But even than the situation has worsened with ever increasing population growth in the country. The Union government should appoint an expert committee to study the success of the family planning programme in Thailand, and adopt similar measures in India too. It may be mentioned that in Thailand the programme has been uniformly successful in both rural and urban areas, and amongst educated and uneducated people alike. The government will has to be more strict and by deny certain facilities to persons with more than two children. Besides, sterilisation of all persons with more than two children should be made compulsory if they approach government hospitals or dispensary for treatment.
The Union government should make rules such that no persons with more than two children are able to contest any elections. Such a model bill has already been adopted by the Delhi Assembly for Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD). Features on Thailand's successful family planning programme should be telecasted to educate the general public about the benefits of planned family.
