BSCAL

The meeting held by five leading stock exchanges with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) came to the conclusion that relaxation in circuit filters from 8 to 12 per cent has

been beneficial to investors as it has provided the much-needed exit route. The meeting noted that the majority of the transactions were in the range of between 8 and 12 per cent.

Sebi yesterday conducted an inter-exchange market surveillance group (ISG) meeting, which had attended by the National, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Calcutta and the Delhi Stock Exchanges.

The meeting discussed the prevailing market trends and the surveillance functioning of the stock exchanges.

The exchanges were of the view that the risk containment measures in the form of margins, exposure controls and capital adequacy norms are being implemented properly and that they provide adequate safety to the market.
