Renault 1997 Sales Rise 12.9 Per Cent

Renault said on Friday its 1997 consolidated revenues had increased 12.9 per cent, or 11.53 percent on a like-for-like basis, to 207.91 billion francs ($34.2 billion). Renault, which is expected to report its full results on March 12, said the turnover contribution of its automobile division amounted to 165,788 million francs -- up 13.6 per cent from the same period in 1996.
