Resource Crunch Hits Tea Research Body

which provided R&D support to the tea industry in north-east India, was attached to the commerce ministry and tea board for grants-in-aid. A TRA release said the body was facing a shortfall in resources, which was made up by using the reserves of the association. The reserves were, however, liquidated, and the shortfall in the current year was estimated to be over Rs 1 crore, the release added.
