Rjd President Declares War Against Bjp, Allies

THE HINDUSTAN TIMES

Rashtriya Janata Dal President Laloo Prasad Yadav on Saturday announced his resolve to fight a last ditch battle against the NDA Government at the Centre, RSS and the BJP till Governor Vinod Chandra Pande is recalled from Bihar. He has charged Mr Pande with unconstitutional functioning and adopting a policy of confrontation against a democratically elected Government of Rabri Devi.

Accepting the challenge thrown by the Vajpayee Government through 'illegal misuse' of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Laloo Yadav did not mince words to declare that his partymen would take to streets to foil the 'nefarious design' of the ruling NDA. A massive rally of people would be organised in the first week of May at the historic Gandhi Maidan here to make them aware of the conspiracy to dislodge the Rabri Government by fabricating a false case of amassing huge property, Mr Yadav said.

He alleged that the Governor had not been allowing the Government to function. However, the Rabri Government did not want any confrontation but the RJD would continue to fight till the Governor was recalled. Laloo Yadav described the Governor as dishonest and declared that a memorandum would be submitted against him to the President.

The RJD supreme made his intention clear that his party along with other secular forces would demolish the NDA Government. He cited instances of Home Minister L. K. Advani and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Kalyan Singh who were allowed to continue in the Government despite being chargesheeted. Chief Minister Rabri Devi would not oblige the fascist forces, as the people's mandate was final in a democratic setup, Mr Yadav said.
