Rs 1430-Crore Annual Plan For Haryana

A government spokesman said the state plans to mobilise additional resources by way of higher central support, increased small savings, pruned government expenditure and improved tax collection. The annual plan was approved at a meeting between Planning Commission deputy chairman Madhu Dandvate and Haryana Chief Minister Bansi Lal in New Delhi on Wednesday. State finance & planning minister, deputy chairman of state planning board and state officials were also present .
at the meeting.
Development programmes in the social sector will get 35.1 per cent of the plan outlay. Development of irrigation and flood control will account for 24.9 per cent.
The allocation for other sectors is: Power (18.3 per cent), agriculture & allied activities (7.8 per cent), transport (6.6 per cent), rural development (2.3 per cent), industries & minerals (2 per cent) and others (3.1 per cent).
About 70 per cent of the total outlay will be spent on rural development under different heads.

An amount of Rs 473.47 crore has been set aside for implementation of externally-aided projects, an increase of 87.5 per cent over last year's level of Rs 252.51 crore. More than 62 per cent of this will be spent on implementation of water resources consolidation projects.
A new Haryana highways upgradation project with an outlay of Rs 31 crore will be taken up during the current year. An integrated human resource development project in the field of agriculture has also been planned with an allocation of Rs 12.53 crore.
A provision of Rs 61.61 crore has been made for completion of sewage lines in six towns of the state under the centrally-sponsored Yamuna Action Plan.
A special provision of Rs 19 crore over and above the normal allocation has been made for elementary education, literacy campaign, constructionof link roads, drinking water, public distribution system, primary health care, housing and supplementary nutrition for children. /incs/bottom.inc"-->
