Scam-Tainted Nfl Under Rating Watch By Crisil

Crisil stated that NFL received a setback on account of the controversial deal for the import of two lakh tonne of urea from a Turkish company, Karsan at a cost of $38 million, paid by the company in advance during December 1995.
NFL has not received the supplies as per the contract and following a CBI inquiry into the matter, key officials, including the then managing director of NFL, were suspended in 1996.
