Scrips Advance On Hectic Institutional Activity

BSCAL

The trading sentiment at the National Stock Exchange (NSE) received a further boost yesterday on account of hectic buying by the foreign institutional investors (FIIs). The NSE-50 index closed at 1136.30 points against the previous close of 1120.70 points, a gain of 15.60 points. The total traded turnover touched Rs 2,515.52 crore, with 8.45 crore shares exchanging hands.

According to sources, the hectic activity witnessed was mainly on account of FII buying. The FIIs have entered the market in a big way and they have made select buying in the pivotals and some high value scrips in the B-group. It is likely that fresh fund allocations for this quarter might have been announced by the fund managers, said an NSE dealer.
