| Sujana group turnover at Rs 230.16 cr |

Sujana Industries Ltd and Sujana Steels Ltd of the Sujana group posted a combined sales turnover of Rs 230.16 crore in 1996-97 as against Rs 176.28 crore the previous year, an increase of 30.6 per cent. According to a company press release, Sujana Industries registered a sales turnover of Rs 119.49 crore, an increase of 41 per cent over the previous year, while Sujana Steels' turnover stood at Rs 110.68 crore, a 20.6 per cent increase. Mainly due to MAT Sujana Industries suffered a marginal decline in net profit in 1996-97 which declined to Rs 5.25 crore (Rs 5.29 crore). The net profit of Sujana Steels also decreased to Rs 6.57 crore against Rs 7.31 crore the previous year. Sujana Industries has announced a 20 per cent dividend, while Sujana Steels' stood at 18 per cent.
