NSE REPORT
The wholesale debt market segment of National Stock Exchange (NSE) witnessed trades worth Rs 238.42 crore yesterday.
The inter-bank call rates opened in the range of 9.5 per cent and 10 per cent with most of the deals being done at 9 per cent level .Later in the day the rates came down to close at 8.5 per cent .

The securities which saw active dealing were the 13.80 per cent government loan maturing 2002 which changed hands for Rs 30 crore at 12.68 per cent, the 13.85 per cent government loan maturing 2000 traded for Rs 20 crore at 12.41 per cent and the 13.05 per cent state government loan maturing 2007 exchanged for Rs 35 crore at 13.04 per cent .
The 364 day treasury bills maturing on 24th April 1998 was dealt for Rs 4 crore at yields of 9.35 per cent .
Corporate debentures were traded for Rs 11.68 crore .
In the limelight was SPIC ,11 lakh of whose 18 per cent debentures maturing 1998 was traded for Rs 11.33 crore at yields of 16.48 per cent.
