Undertone Steady

Reliance counter occupied the centre stage yesterday on the Calcutta stock exchange to score further handsome gains on hectic bull support. The main prop to the scrips as well as market sentiment has been the prospect of a bonus issue to be decided by the companys board meeting scheduled on June 26.
In sympathy with the rise in Reliance scrips select others maintained a good form while others well maintained their recent gains. The turnover was large and undertone steady. The CSEs 50-share index rallied to 117.51 points the highest before closing at 116.37 points losing marginally by 0.71 points. The days low was at 115.44 points. The RIL scrip touched a high of Rs 361.70 before closing at Rs 360.50 while Tisco finished at Rs 194.50 and SBI at Rs 327 with Tata Tea held at Rs 378.80, L&T at Rs 242.20, ITC at Rs 507.90, and Hind Lever at Rs 1328.
Among other scrips of the specified list CESC wound up at Rs 37.75, ICICI at Rs 80.20, Hind Motor at Rs 13.80 and ACC at Rs 1227.
