Woman Found Murdered In Her Home

THE HINDUSTAN TIMES

A 23-year-old woman, Babita, was found murdered in her home in Kanjhawla village this morning. Babita was found strangulated by some of the villagers. The body also bore burn marks on hands and stomach.

Babita's two-and-a-half-year-old daughter was found crying by her side when the body was discovered. The police said that Babita's husband, Naresh left to his farm in evening.

Naresh's cousin visited the couple's house at about 8.30 pm to get food for Naresh. The murder is believed to have taken place after Naresh's cousin Lalit left with the food. According to Kanjhawla police, Naresh and Babita kept some buffaloes and used to sell milk to supplement their income from farming.

When some of the villagers came to Babita's house in the morning to buy milk they found that no one was up. On hearing the child crying, the door was pushed. The door gave way easily and Babita's strangulated body was found on the floor. Babita's daughter was sitting by her mother and crying loudly. Kanjhawla police said that they have registered a case of murder and are working on some clues which they did not disclose.
