Indian software companies should adopt the synergistic approach to create new business value, according to Sridhar Mitta, managing director, e4e Labs India Private Limited. Mitta was speaking at a Nasscom product forum on 'Captive India Development Centres (IDC) - Proven strategies to address challenges'.
Calling for a replication of the Taiwan model of cluster approach, Mitta said that if Indian companies join together, they can add value in synergy.
"Taiwan has moved from being a mere assembler to a manufacturing powerhouse, with majority of its companies serving the PC market within a small geography. Indian companies should follow suit to gain the advantages of a cluster approach," Mitta said.
Embarking on the talent issue, Manmohan Jain, vice-president, development, with CA's India Technology Centre, said that today they had grown to become a 1,000-plus organisation.
"For operations of this huge a size, one needs the right people from across the country. The challenge remains in validating many claims that are made by the candidates in their resume," he added.
According to Rajiv Kumar, director, Microsoft India, finding the mid-level talent is the most difficult because people like to jump to the senior level just after a few years of experience.
