SAP, a provider of business software, has announced a significant growth in its ecosystem across India.

The German company said that during the last one year, Indian customers and partners have more than doubled their membership and activities within SAP communities of innovation.

Within the SAP ecosystem, the SAP Developer Network (SDN) and Business Process Expert communities in India have grown to about 200,000 members last year, showing a 100 per cent rise in the overall membership across the country.

Weekly page views and interactions on the community sites in India have also doubled over the last year, with over 1 million pages being viewed per week from India.

The SDN and Business Process Expert communities enable customers, partners, developers and employees to engage with IT and business professionals across the globe to share expertise and best practices related to SAP solutions and enterprise SOA.

The company has announced that over 5,000 customers and partners will participate in the discussion on how to better harness the power and flexibility of enterprise SOA to transform existing business processes, as a part of the SAP TechEd '07 happening in Bangalore this week.

Meanwhile, SAP has announced that from 2008, the SDN and Business Process Expert communities' members will be rewarded with a donation to the UN World Food Programme's Food for Education.
